Church Stretton Tennis Club is affiliated to the Lawn Tennis Association and club members are registered with British Tennis (Lite Membership)
There has been a tennis club in some form in Church Stretton for over a century. When the town park area was donated to the local Town Council during the first half of the 20th century the club moved to the park and played on four red shale courts and two grass courts. During the 1950s the club was home to many important tournaments.
Two of the shale courts and one of the grass courts have now been replaced by three all-weather courts and it is these courts that are regularly used by the club today. The remaining courts have been taken over by the local croquet club although one lawn is dual purpose croquet/tennis lawn.
